take hints from a  living place, not a book shelf.    your garden needs to be in harmony with your place.

"a doctor can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his client to plant vines."

                                             -- Frank Lloyd Wright

When FJF Workshop was formed, we realize most people just want

to 'get it done'.  Gardens change each year, so we keep our

relationship open beyond the 'got it done' installation.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Never forget why you're designing in the first place-this is serious.
  • Small seems lower in terms of status, but in terms of detail, small is the only place where the details emerge.
  • Right material in the right place.

This, too, is Franz.

This side of Franz is the job outside of work.  He has four children and they live in Evanston, IL.

This is Franz.

Franz spends much of his time talking to people about what they want and how it can get done.
